Pel-Plug Bentonite Pellets
Our Pel-Plug is a type of bentonite pellets made up of pure western sodium bentonite where the product has not been altered chemically and has been packed into a compressed form. As far as pellet sizes go, it is available in 1/2 inch, 3/8 inch, and 1/4 inch varieties. Pel-Plug can be purchased in 50 lb. pail containers.
Pel-Plug bentonite pellets offer a number of key benefits to users. For example, since this product comes in pellet form, there is no dust to contend with when using it. This makes for a relatively clean user experience, and this also makes it easier to manipulate and handle the bentonite. In fact, there is no need to mix the product before applying it. It can simply be poured into the target hole, without having to add any moisture beforehand. Additionally, these pellets do not pollute the environment or introduce toxins that could affect aquatic life. Once these pellets swell many times their dry size and create a seal, you will find that it is incredibly strong. Even when there is movement in the surrounding area, the seal will simply flex as opposed to cracking.
Pel-Plug TR30/60 Time-Released Coated Bentonite Pellets
Pel-Plug TR30/60 time-released coated bentonite pellets offer many of the same benefits as our standard Pel-Plug product, with some additional advantages. Like its non-time-release counterpart, there is no need to mix or add moisture before applying the product to create seals that are both robust and flexible.
Due to the fact that these bentonite pellets are coated, they can be more effectively used in situations where the bentonite needs to sink or move through standing water, before it reaches the site where the seal is needed. In fact, these pellets can be further modified to allow for use in water that is very deep.
